Information about how we handle personal information

The policy

This Privacy Policy explains how AMI Payments uses personal information when you visit our website, discuss your payment-testing needs with us, communicate with our team or apply for a role.

1. Who we are

AMI Payments is incorporated in the United Kingdom, with its registered address at 7 Bell Yard, London, WC2A 2JR. We provide live-payment testing through verified local participants to help payment firms understand payment receipt, delivery times, amounts received and recipient experience across Africa.

For website enquiries, recruitment correspondence and website administration, AMI Payments is the controller: the organisation responsible for deciding how and why personal information is used. Contact us at info@amiinsights.com.

Our public website is informational. It does not offer customer payment accounts or let visitors send or receive payments.

2. Information we collect

We collect information relevant to the way you interact with us:

  • Testing enquiries: your first and last name, work email, organisation, role, organisation type, country or market of interest, testing requirements, submission time and our records of handling the enquiry.
  • Correspondence: contact details and information you choose to include in emails or other communications with our team.
  • Job applications: contact details, CV, employment history and other application information you send to the email address shown in a job posting. Clicking an application link does not itself upload your CV to our website.
  • Technical information: information generated when our website and infrastructure handle requests, which may include IP addresses, browser or device details, requested pages, request times and diagnostic or security logs.
  • Optional website analytics: with your consent, Google Analytics receives public-page views and technical browser, device and usage information to help us understand website use. We do not send enquiry contents, account details, URL query strings or fragments through this integration, or track signed-in admin, developer sandbox or client areas.
  • Administration: authorised administrators' account identifiers, authentication and session information used to manage website content and enquiries.

We normally receive enquiry and application information directly from you. A colleague may also provide your business contact details when involving you in a discussion. Where information comes from another source, we will provide any additional privacy information required by applicable law.

Please do not send passwords, authentication codes, identity documents, full bank-account or mobile-wallet details, or identifiable beneficiary payment evidence through our general enquiry form.

You are not legally obliged to submit an enquiry. Fields marked as required help us respond meaningfully; without sufficient information, we may be unable to assess your request.

3. How we use information

We use personal information to respond to enquiries, understand testing requirements, manage business relationships, consider applications, operate the website and protect it against misuse.

For business-contact enquiries and relationship management, we rely on our legitimate interests in responding to prospective clients and operating our service. For recruitment, our legitimate interest is assessing applications and communicating with applicants. Where you personally would be a party to a contract, taking steps at your request before entering that contract may apply instead.

Our legitimate interests also include maintaining a secure, functioning website, controlling administrative access and resolving technical issues. Where we rely on legitimate interests, we must consider the impact on your rights and interests.

Where processing is necessary to meet a legal obligation, that obligation is the relevant lawful basis. Where consent is required for a particular activity, we will seek it separately. Submitting an enquiry is not blanket consent to unrelated marketing.

We rely on your consent for optional Google Analytics cookies and associated website usage measurement. You can withdraw this consent through “Cookie preferences” in the footer without affecting essential website features.

4. Information used in a testing engagement

An agreed test may involve participant or beneficiary information and evidence of a payment outcome. The relevant purposes, sources, evidence requirements, access arrangements and controller or processor roles need to be established for that engagement.

This website policy does not replace a participant privacy notice, client agreement or data-processing agreement. Where AMI processes personal information only on a client's instructions, the relevant processing agreement applies.

Submitting a website enquiry does not authorise disclosure of your contact details to recipients or local participants. Any sharing needed for a test must be separately defined and lawfully supported.

5. Who may receive information

Depending on the activity, personal information may be accessed by:

  • Authorised AMI team members handling enquiries, recruitment, administration or security.
  • Providers supporting website hosting, database storage, authentication, email and technical operations.
  • Google, which provides Google Analytics for optional public-website usage measurement when you accept analytics cookies. See Google's Privacy Policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy for information about its handling of data.
  • Professional advisers where needed for legal, accounting or related advice.
  • Authorities or other recipients where disclosure is required by law, or is necessary and lawful to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

Our complete provider inventory has not yet been confirmed. The categories above describe the support functions involved; they are not a verified list of named providers. Contact info@amiinsights.com for the provider information currently available.

6. International processing

Our service concerns African markets, and some technology or business-service providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Listing a country on our website does not mean website enquiries are shared with that country or with local participants.

Our overseas data-storage locations and transfer arrangements have not yet been confirmed. We cannot currently give a verified account of those destinations or safeguards. Contact info@amiinsights.com for the information currently available about the handling of your data.

Any restricted transfer must meet applicable data-protection requirements. This policy does not itself establish a transfer safeguard or represent that any particular transfer mechanism has been verified.

7. How long information is kept

Our retention policy for website enquiries and job applications is 6 to 12 months, depending on the purpose, status and need to follow up. We do not keep them longer than necessary.

This period is not a blanket retention period for every category of information. Administrative records, technical logs and information collected under a separate testing engagement need to be assessed for their own purpose, applicable requirements and retention arrangements. Contact us if you need information about a particular record.

8. Security

Administrative areas use access restrictions to protect content-management tools and submitted enquiries. No website, storage system or communication method can be guaranteed completely secure.

We do not publish detailed security configurations in this policy. Contact us to discuss information-handling requirements before sending sensitive information or starting a testing engagement.

9. Cookies and browser storage

Restricted administrative access uses authentication and session technologies, which may include cookies and browser storage. These are different from optional analytics or advertising technologies.

Our application configures a server-session cookie with a maximum age of seven days. Other authentication storage and third-party website technologies may have different durations. A complete live-site cookie and storage inventory has not yet been confirmed.

You can manage cookies and browser storage through your browser settings, although blocking essential technologies may affect functionality. If non-essential technologies are used, the applicable information and consent requirements must be met; this policy is not a substitute for consent where it is required.

The AMI cookie banner lets you accept all cookies or choose essential cookies only. Your preference is saved in your browser for 180 days. Use “Cookie preferences” in the website footer to review or change it at any time. Essential authentication and security technologies remain available regardless of your choice.

Google Analytics is loaded only after you accept all cookies. Its first-party analytics cookies (_ga and _ga_B8DH2GJYR2) are configured with a 180-day lifetime, which may be renewed during consented visits. Choosing essential cookies only stops our analytics tracking and removes these cookies where accessible. Advertising storage, Google signals and ad personalisation are not enabled by this integration. Google Analytics data retention is managed separately in the Google Analytics property settings.

10. Your privacy rights

Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, you may request access to your information, correction of inaccurate information, erasure, restriction of processing or a portable copy of certain information. These rights are subject to applicable conditions and exemptions.

You may object to processing based on legitimate interests on grounds relating to your situation. You may object to direct marketing at any time.

Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting processing that was lawful before withdrawal.

To exercise a right, contact info@amiinsights.com. We may need proportionate information to verify your identity. We will normally respond within one month; if an extension or another statutory timing rule applies, we will explain it.

You may complain to the UK's Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). You do not have to contact us before complaining, although we welcome the opportunity to address your concern. Other supervisory-authority rights may apply depending on your location.

You can also make a complaint to the ICO(opens in a new tab).

12. Updates to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in our activities, verified information about our practices or applicable requirements. The last-updated date appears on this page. We will provide additional notice where required. Updating this policy is not itself consent to a new use of your information.
